Jessica Shechtman

Professional, yet adventurous and innovative, Jessica Shechtman loves to travel, create, and share. Shechtman is a current 2L at Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law. Shechtman graduated with a dual degree from Syracuse University in the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications and the Maxwell School of Citizenship of Public Affairs. She majored in public relations and international relations with a minor in Spanish. While specifically interested in the law and human rights issues, Shechtman is also passionate about storytelling and connecting people across various communities through media. She is an avid leader, forward thinker, and dedicated worker. Shechtman thrives under pressure and loves to think outside-the-box.

 

Shechtman has held an internship at the Nassau County District in Long Island, New York and currently coordinates social media and advertising for 4M Marketing. She has served as the community service chair for her sorority, Kappa Kappa Gamma, and was a volunteer at Syracuse Refugee and Immigrant Self-Empowerment during her undergraduate career. During her first year of law school, she served as a 1L Representative for Cardozo's Women's Law Initiative, and she currently serves as the Social Media and Digital Marketing Chair of Cardozo's Entertainment Law Society. During her 1L summer, Shechtman served as a legal intern for Catholic Charities New York. 

 

With her versatile and bold personality, Shechtman likes to dip her toes in various fields to expand her knowledge and immerse herself in new experiences and opportunities.
